[edit] Overview
- Ships can move safely through a Web Minefield at speed 6 or less.
- Web Minefields cause ships to become more visible as they attempt to pass through them.
- Any ship or wing stops moving when hitting a Web Minefield. New to host 198: Ships with a hull mass of over 500kt can crash through web mines and only have a 10% chance that a web mine hit will stop the ship.
- Detonating a Web Minefield stops any ships and wings that are inside the detonated minefield.
- A ship that is inside of a detonating Web Minefield will sustain 10% engine damage per detonation. Ships with no engines are immune to the Web Minefield effects.
- Web Minefields do not drain fuel as they did in VGA Planets 3.
- Setting a web minefield to cloaked will not make it harder to be swept.
[edit] Damage
[edit] Damage done during movement
- A ship hitting a web mine takes at least 20 of engine damage. A 100 kt mass hull can take between 20 and 40 points of engine damage.
Hull Damage = (100 / Hull Mass) * (RND(0 to 4) + 20)
Engine Damage = (100 / Hull Mass) * RND(0 to 40) + 40
- Flying through Web minefields increases your visibility. Every phase that you are in a Web Minefield adds (Phase_VECTOR * 5) + 1. If you are going speed 100 you will gain 3.5 noise units per phase.
[edit] Damage done during detonation
- Any enemy or ally ship that is in a web minefield that explodes takes 10% engine damage and the ship is stopped.
- Minefields, pods, wings are not affected.
- Your sensor image doesn't change from a detonated Web minefield.
- The Light Speed drive of a Virgo Class is turned off when hit by a detonating Web minefield.
