Victory Points
From PlanetsWiki
[edit] Overview
Scoring in Planets is determined by way of Victory Points. These can be switched on or off and configured by the host using HConfig.
[edit] Scoring Points
Scoring victory points can be done in a variety of ways, though check with the host which of these are enabled.
[edit] Planets with 1 million happy colonists
Each planet you have a base on and which contains over 1 million colonists gets you a point.
[edit] Planets with 5 million happy colonists
Each planet you have a base on and which contains over 5 million colonists gets you a point. This is on top of the point you get from 1 million colonists.
[edit] Planets with 10 million happy colonists
Each planet you have a base on and which contains over 10 million colonists gets you a point. This is on top of the points you get from 1 million and 5 million colonists.
[edit] Native votes
Each 10 native type can vote for a player they want to win the war. Each vote you get gets you 1 victory point, for a maximum of 10 victory points for natives. Each native type vote only for one player, maximum 10 pts spread for all player in a game.
The happiness needs to be >= 70. The score that is compared to other players is:
score = population * (happiness / 100,000).
Only scores over 100 are considered in the vote. 1 VP per vote is gained.
[edit] Being at peace
You get a point for each active race you are not at war with (where Attack is switched off in the Ally Commands screen). This occurs only after turn 25. Each player must not have missed more than 3 turns concurrently also.
[edit] Special race-based points
Some races can have special conditions which get them bonus victory points.
* Privateer Hoarding (see Discussion)
[edit] King of the hill
The host can specify a planet (the default is Wayne's World) to fight over, and a number of points (default is 5) to fight for. If you are the only player to have ships over this planet, you score the points. Your ship must be within 5 ly of the planet. This occurs only after a specified turn.
[edit] Losing Points
Certain conditions cause you to lose victory points.
[edit] Being at war
If you are at war with any number of races, you lose a victory point. This occurs only after turn 25.
[edit] Research
- What are the special race-based points?
- There are none.
- How happy is happy for colonists?
- They don't need to be happy.
- Being at peace
You get a point for each active race you are not at war with (where Attack is switched off in the race screen). This occurs only after turn 25.
Does the other race also need to turn Attack OFF, to get +1 VP ?
- From old post in the planets 4 newsgroup YES
- This is the only way to get a victory point in this manner.
