Hi Roger, I tried to install both dot.net and vidivici. vidivici went pretty smooth and dotnetfx stated that this is not a regular Win32 application.

Can you help ?

Thanks Sun

(Not sure if I'm supposed to reply here or on your User page, so I'll try both)

Let me make sure that I understand your problem. You downloaded dotnetfx from Microsoft's site, and you tried to run it, but you got an error message?

What operating system are you running this on? Windows 98, 2000, XP? And is your computer up to date (latest critical updates installed)?

Same with me. Not familar with wiki. But works in a way:

I have XP SP1. Have not installed updates for quite a while for some reasons.. Do I need a certain update for dotnetfx to get install properly ? Thanks for your help ! Vidivici actually looks quite cool!

The best I can come up with is this page: http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/win32.htm

What browser did you try to save the file with? Perhaps it was using text-mode transfer instead of binary?

I've literaly installed dotnetfx on dozens of machines, and I've never seen that error before. It sounds like the file was corrupted. Is it possible that the download didn't finish before you tried to run it, or that the connection was interrupted?

My first guess was a corrupt file as well. I tried it several times at home (IE6sp2 und firefox) and at work (IE newest version). It was always 21 MB, although it says that it should be 23 MB. I will start a new attempt.

Got it ! Works very well. If I have various games running simultanously, how do I select the right csv. Do I have to install vidivici several times (in slots each with its own set of csvs ?

That's the most obnoxious thing about VidiVici :( With the current version of the program, there's no way to switch to another game except re-making the CSV for that game.

VidiVici can track multiple games at once, though. There's no need to install multiple copies.

New topic.. you mentioned the formula for income from training was complicated but if you know it or have a copy of it somewhere would you mind posting it here? General Kael

Sure, I'll see if I can dig it up. Just off the top of my head, I know that you get WAY more for training just highguard than you do for training troops. In fact, training troops and highguard on the same planet will often times reduce your highguard income. That's why it's so efficient to convert prisoners into troops (with the Hawkins) and then train them directly to high guard.

Any luck with that formula?

Sorry 'bout that. Forgot. The formula is up on the training centers page now.
