I ran some tests with Host 193 and changed the Tech Institute contraband production formulas accordingly. Yes, the formulas have definitely changed recently; you used to get "interest" on stored Stim Bright Pills, but that no longer appears to be the case. I did not test to see if Happiness or Food have any affect on contraband production.
Stim production appears to be determined entirely by colonists now.

There is definetly another factor to stim production. With the settings given in the example I get 21 Stims - not 10 as you stated. With 2000 Books in storage it is arround 35. So I still think that you get 1 Stim for each 100 Books stored - like I stated in my first guess (moekon)
Hmm... when I did my tests, there was no additional Stim production even with 2000 Illegal Books in storage. I'll have to run some more tests to be sure then.
Which Host Version do you user? (Jochen)
Did some more testing and found that stims are increased by 1% of illegal books, as originally stated. Also, the colonist divisor for illegal books appears to be closer to 450,000 instead of 500,000. Answers are rounded to the nearest integer. You appear to need at least 100,000 colonists to generate interest on your illegal books.
Re: Violator Description. The text mentions the idea of building "decoy" violators without superlasers, to draw the enemy away from your primary. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that all super weapons could be scanned (ordinary weapons cannot be scanned, except by the EE)? The enemy will be able to see if a ship is equipped with a super laser or not.
Well, if that is true, the idea is obviously worthless. I never tried to look at superweapons on enemy ships, so I can't tell whether you are right. (moekon)
as part of the last host change 208: Changed: When viewing other player's ships, bases, etc as much as possible, the view will display things in their perspective instead of your own. Currently you dont see enemy super weapons, so decoys are now possible.
