As mentioned on the news group by Thriyon, this *would* make the Hive ability to detect Insectoids mostly useless. A few Bioscanners would detect ALL natives (including Insectoids) within a much larger area. However, I believe that the Bioscanner code could still be used as an easier way to code this ability in.
Give the Willow the Bioscanner. In the Bioscanner code, reduce the scanning range to 100 and increase the probability up to 100% when the Hull is a Willow.
Technically you could do this without giving the Willow the Bioscanner, by simply checking for the Willows hull number while doing the normal check for the Bioscanner device bit.
Call this ability (along with the "SDI Anti-Probe" ability), the Anti-Probe Picket Teams. In addition to shooting down any Probes, it also can detect "wild" natives within the same range.

About the suggestion of adding a Resort: IMHO only three special buildings can be defined per race. Is it really wise to ask for a special building if RST files and such all have to be touched to make it happen? --Yid 08:56, 15 February 2008 (CET)
