Talk:Skill
From PlanetsWiki
"* You gain skill from ship combat. Firing small and large weapons (and hitting) gives you skill."
That is a mix-up of skill and experience. Phaidros
That's a matter of opinion, not perspective. All games have differences in how they treat certain values and this game treats it this way. Skill at using your weapons is increased by using them. At the commensement of a battle, and if you survive, then you have just been through an experience, and thus gain some points in that area. --Magik 17:16, 14 February 2008 (CET)
I'm sorry. Your answer is confusing me further. Is it possible to get the algorithms to see what is happening here in detail?
Phaidros
I described the concept behind skill versus experience. There aren't any fancy algorithms behind skill and experience increase. If you hit with a small or large weapon, then the skill increases by 1. If you are a survivor of a combat where enemy ships have been destroyed, then each surviving participant gains 1 experience for each destroyed ship. The minimum gain in experience is 10. --Magik 17:49, 14 February 2008 (CET)
OK, thanks. I'll re-edit the entry.
