I still cannot run this on any of my XP 32 bit machines. I follow the instructions (.net V2 is installed), set the planets path and when I double click on the program it flashes the main screen but immediately dies. Is it missing something else? Crimson Red - June 12, 2009 (EST)

I have no clue what might cause your problems, but perhaps using the latest version might give a hint as it gives more error messages. Jochen 17:44, 13 June 2009 (CEST)

For anyone interested to know what raceview2 does under the hood - I've put the source code (including dlls) on the server so feel to check it out.

Bug in Vista 64: The Planets 4 path could not be initialized properly.

I've tried some workarounds (compatibility, admin rights, etc) but I've got no success =/

Aditional information:

  • P4 install path: D:\Planets4
  • rv2-config.xml content: 
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<string>D:\Planets4</string>

OTH, I've Vista 32 at work and RV2 works nice there. It must be some kind of dll messing things up out there :(

(Suggestion / Comments :-? ) We are trying to build some guidelines for checking if the hull designs are "acceptable". You can find our work at Ship_List_Guideline. I wonder if you could colaborate with us because we need to import the data from ship hulls in an Excel Workbook. We could refactor some of your code to export the data for a ship or we could program some additional classes to do this checking inside your program.
