I found the Q Tanker's remote fighter refueling ability to its most interesting quality. As an 'almost cloaked' attack ship that can deliver 200 fighters (even though crappy), it is pretty interesting. Since the fighters don't actually have to be docked with the Tanker to move 'with' it (and by WITH it I mean within 100ly ahead of the tanker), it is an intersting mechanism of delivering nice surprise attacks without risking the tanker.

In fact, you can theoretically set of a series of tankers in your own space, or chaining to the space you want to attack, such that your fighters can just fly there with impunity, not worrying about fuel. And it is very unlikly that the enemy will spot the tankers, even if they are floating in deep space.
