Talk:Mineral Mine
From PlanetsWiki
Hi Jochen
are you sure about the happiness drop. 2 or 3 hostversions ago, I checked the happiness drop caused by mines, because I intended to use it as weapon by giving away bases to enemies, that contain a hell lot of mines only. At that time I did some scripting and got the following results:
Hapiness Number of Drop Mines 0 0 - 50 10 60 12 70 14 80 16 90 18 100 20 110 22 120 24 130 26 140 28 150 30 160 32 170 34 180 36 190 38 200
98 500

Well,
51 mines will cause a drop of 8 happiness points a turn on the base and every 5 extra mines above 51 mines will cause another 1 point drop in happiness. looks almost the same (+/-) a point?

Looks like we were both right. RoboDoc 21:41, 13 July 2006 (CEST)
50 mines at a homeworld will cause a 3 point happiness drop per turn. If you want to use your homeworld for Complex Tax then you want all tha happiness that you can muster. That is why I had set it to 20. Magik 06:40, 20 January 2007 (CET)
Ah Sorry I did not know they were any penalty for 50 mines, this is linked to population ? Lord Lancelot 06:42, 20 January 2007 (CET)
Yes, read bullet point 7 under Overview. There are 2 places in the code where smelters and mines affect happiness. I'm requesting that Tim remove one of them. They are different from each other. Oh and don't apologize. :) It just makes me realize that the documentation isn't clear. I'm doing all of this documentation so that Tim can finalize his using what is here. That is what he requested anyways. Magik 06:48, 20 January 2007 (CET)
