Against an activated Glory Defence according to Sebastian in newsgroup:
Non-Stormer ships:
Destroy the ship in VCR,
Massive bording laser damage (theoretical),
Mine hits
Stormer ships (ship or race feature?):
Massive bording laser damage (theoretical),

Both:
Bording is possible, but the ship will still blow up;
Towing is possible; you can tow them to a region were the explosion does not
harm anything you don´t want to harm.
Sebastian did some sims (2-8-05) and posted this:
Neither wings nor ships are able to fight a Stormer ship with active GD. You
will only get Minor Ship conflicts. It seems the Stormer ship enters combat,
too, but they are taken out of VCR. When 3 Races fight at the same spot the
Stormer gets the VCR-file, too, but none of his ships take part in combat.

Free Amorphs on Planet has a limit of 50K per Detonation.

does anyone know what damage is done to bases that are below a glory device detonation?

No damage is done to the bases, it will only cook 15,000 Amorphous. Of course the base could be destroyed, if the planet blows up due to hd stress.
