You can build fully equipped ships via Quickship build, can't you? Jochen 15:27, 8 February 2006 (CET)

Never tried it myself. Where do the parts come from? Do you have to be over a ground base? --RogerN 16:12, 8 February 2006 (CET)

A friend of mine said, he just had the metals on board (so you could in fact save the money for engine plant and weapon plant - should be tested) Jochen 16:38, 8 February 2006 (CET)

Just tried it and it worked perfectly. Glad to hear about it; I could've sworn that it didn't used to work. --RogerN 17:44, 8 February 2006 (CET)

Doesn't the Dry Dock build ships before movement? Amaranthine 09:29, 20 October, 2006 (MDT)

Yes it happens just like a base building ships. Dry docks can't however build alien ship hulls. Maybe this should be requested. General Kael

Dry docks can build alien hulls - provided the hull plan is stored in the ship. Jochen 19:32, 20 October 2006 (CEST)

Yes I had a Rebel platform hack and build alien hull

Do all the resources have to be onboard at the beginning of the turn, if you are using the normal builld? I'm sure it is the case for quickbuild, but haven't used the normal with a drydock yet. Jochen 13:11, 21 October 2006 (CEST)

all the resources to build (money and metals) must be on board the Dry dock ship at the beggining of the turn for it to show as an option to be built in the Quickbuild Screen. tranfering meterials and money wont cause it to display as an option for construction by the Quickbuild screen, unlike ground bases.--protomatter 11:30, 13 July 2007 (CEST)

in cases like the autonomy elite battlestation hwere it has a large enough dry dock to build the alien hull slayer, but only has enough mineral storage capacity for 2000 minerals, yet the slayer requires over 6000 miinerals, can the autonomy build the slayer if the rest of the minerals are stored in the pods?--protomatter 12:26, 17 September 2007 (CEST)

the asnwer is no, minerals in pods dont count towards the construction of hulls. your construction is limited to the amoount of minerals you can hold. and the amount of dry dock size as well.

[edit] Repair Dock

Dry Dock could be used as a Repair dock

  • Dry dock size (multiple ships could be repaired if mass does not exceed dry dock size, and repair units needed)
  • Repair units
  • Alien Hull (max 50% per turn), (double repair needed), (double dry dock size needed)
  • Alien Hull & ship plan, the ship is considered as own race hull (no penalty).

Some special rules for Privateer, since once of their flaw is the "hard to get repair". All Priv using a Repair bay, should threat their own ships has alien hull (max 50% per turn), (double repair needed), (double dry dock size needed). and alien ships 25% (without plan) 50% with ship plan.
