Talk:Aurora Class Flagship
From PlanetsWiki
Why is the Gravity Sensor announced under special here and the Lotus and maybe other ships too, as all Coaliton ships shall have it as written under The Reunited Coalition of Systems - Ship and there special. IMHO it is not necessary to extra write it at some ships and others not.
IIRC at the beginning of the RCS area the only ships with the Gravity Sensors should be the Arrearan ships + the Lotus and the Aurora. That's maybe why the Device is written here under special and at the Lotus. Looking in old RCS guides from Thriyon there it is written as I remembered, only arrearan ships and the Lotus + Aurora have it.
Not sure what is now really implemented. Maybe must be researched which ship now really have it implemented.

I made no test, but the doc says all ships have it, so * Gravity Sensors added to all RCS ships.
Test could be done to confirm.

Which Doc? For the RCS I use [1] Thyrions Doc from 2005 as reference. That was in the past accurate and in the meantime there where no changes to the RCS. But maybe he was wrong on the point with the Grav Sensors.

Does anybody know a reasonable configuration for this ship? Or is it just to expensive, something like a Rolls Royce which is nice but kept in the garage?

At the useful configurations, do you really mean there Particle Cannons or do you mean Plasma Bolt Cannons. On the last one the Target Enhancer work but not on the Particle cannons. At the PDs, as the ship cost so much money, I think you can spent some Intercept against incoming Large Weapon fire. And if you await fighters, then some Sandcaster maybe a good choice except Robo, EE with their Fighters nearly immune to Sandcasters. Good against Fighters are MML too. So some things depend on the enemy. A good allround mix are IMHO 2 SCs + PBCs + Gatlings, Tachyone, Intercept + MMLs + Quad.

Thank you JoSch. I changed the config. Just wanted to have discussion starting... ;-) --Yid 11:17, 15 December 2007 (CET)
No Problem. But you will not often see a Aurora in games. Never build one do to lack of money and time.
What do you mean with "Combat Range: 600 (if any Gatling Phasors are mounted, 760 otherwise)"? AFAIK, the mounted PBC should have a range of 760, for this it is not important if there are other Weapons mounted. The other weapons work normal and don't get a benefit from the Plasma Stream Enhancer.
I like the RCS from the flair, but don't like the much more Micro Managment or the to low income compared to the Hull Costs. Just die through a Crystal. One of the enemies the RCS must really fear and should avoid.
JoSch
The Gatling Phasor has a range of 600. If you want it to fire continously, I thought it might be a good idea to take that range as well. It does not use any Ammo, too, so if the Arora runs out of Ammo, the Gatling phasors might still fire. We're just starting a game called "Archenar Wormhole Madness" at Dreheads' on a gigantic map, so I hope to be able to build an Aurora. The setup seems to be promissing. Thats why Im improving the RCS stuff in the Wiki now. I want to know what to do before the game starts :-)
