Aphelium, is almost the same as the Birdmen plasmatron for mining, why not try to make it work exactlt the same so there is less new code for Tim (and new rule learned for players) ? Maybe reduce the current cost to 66% of what it is now. That way it will mine the same amount of metal for the same $,but no need to write new mining code.

It doesn't say how many ore will be mined every turn. Nobody knows this? So I must test this then. Other problem is. The Aphelium also mines neutronium at the same rate. --Mivorari 18:31, 1 November 2006 (CET)
In a local test game the 100 Plasmatrons mining 1400kt of metal. However I think there is a bug. They also mine neutronium. So if I let one (1) Aphelium mine 20kt ore. Divided into the for minerals. I think that is fear/good, because the Mivorari can only mine from orbit or with the Aphelium. Do you think the Aphelium is to expensive ? --Mivorari 20:35, 1 November 2006 (CET)
Did you make the test with new host 198 ? So we can update the Plasmatron N6i page
The price seem ok, since the mech are the way they use for mining, I think you could reduce it to 15MC (3 times normal mine building cost).

AFAIK the Plasmatron have ever mine Neutronium, as a normal Mine mine Neutronium.
Let it mine as a normal Mine or as a Plasmatron. I would not reduce the price, I will not see hundreds of them to quickly. Think more about to higher the price to 30 or 35 MC each. But depends on income, so maybe 25 Mc is okay. They have the Particle Fountain on a Tech 6 ship to get more minerals if necessary.

That sounds like this:
Every Aphelium Ore Miner mines max 10kt ore (depense on the planets density of the planet) of each metal out of the planet and convert ore with a rate of 6kt in the base into metal.
