[edit] Primary Purpose
This is your main intelligence ship. There are two ways of getting information with them. If you are facing a Hyp-Race (Rebels, EE but also UEA and Cyborg) be sure to spread some of your Sparrows all over the map and leave them cloacked. They will give you great information about the enemys ship movements because of the Aczanny Hyperscan.
If you face a normal warp Race keep then near you border and activate long range scanner. This ship is very easy captured by the enemy so don´t go into enemy territory when you´re visible.
[edit] Secondary Purpose
Another possibility is to use this ship as Anti-Fighter-Ship. Normally you have enough Phaetons around to do the job. But sometimes it might be usefull to have some additional Sparrows with Turbo Lasers around (as surprise).
If you face a player that left his farming colonies undefended you can bring in some HG and capture that base. Works only with unexperienced players.

- The Sparrow class is immune to grav mines and barbitic mines.
- I'm not sure if this includes detonating mines (RogerN) - I'm sure that they are not immune to detonation. (Gandalf)
- Furthermore it is subject to the special rules applying to ships of the Aczanny Pyramids. (Hull Evasive Bonus of 97)
- Max Hull Speed of 400 (in VCR's)

They need Transwarp to move faster (380 ly/turn) around the map. They are great scouts (350 ly of Scanner). They will be easily destroyed/captured in combat so don't add them more parts. With Transwarp they got a total Evasive Bonus of 172, so in big numbers they can attract a big power fire from your enemies. If you are Aczanny you will have free Transwarp anyway.
