[edit] Overview
Colonists on ships produce some income. The amount of money produced is about 145 megacredits per 100,000 colonists, adjusted by the race's income stat. No portion of ship income is sent to the galactic bank, a portion of the income from base taxes are sent to the bank. The ship income is influenced by your Tax setting (policy).
[edit] Details
Ship Income = Colonists / 100 * ((Race Money Modifier + 10) / 300) * Tax Rate
- There is no happiness modifier for ship taxes.
- Happiness is not adjusted on a ship due to the tax policy that is in place.
- These taxes occur before movement, along with the taxes produced by bases.
- The Colonies of Man produce additional taxes, which happens after movement. Their additional taxes are: (Colonists / 1000) x 2
Example:
100,000 Robot (Race Income = 70) colonists on a super transport ship will produce:
- 174mc with Enslavement (Tax Rate 0.65)
- 134mc with Liberal (Tax Rate 0.50)
- 120mc with Conservative (Tax Rate 0.45)
- 107mc with Ultra-Conservative (Tax Rate 0.40)
- 147mc with Complex (Tax Rate 0.55) Happiness does not affect ship income with Complex taxes
[edit] Comparison To Taxes
Colonists in ships produce about the same amout of money as they would if they were in a city on a ground base (with Conservative tax setting), except that no money is sent to the galactic bank.
| 100,000 colonists in a city | 32 MC from taxes (Conservative, Income 100) 15 MC sent to galactic bank (Conservative, Income 100) Total 147 MC |
| 100,000 colonists on a ship | 146 MC from ship income |
[edit] Special
- The Colonies of Man have their own special rules for ship income, which allows them to make more income on ships than other races.
