[edit] Overview

  • The Saber Class Frigate is a decent Stormer ship.
  • The Glory Device can be used to destroy fighter wings, pods and minefields, and also damage ships and pop Amorphous Worms. You can also increase the Hyperdimensional Stress of planets and make them explode. The Nefarious Class Destroyer is often preferred for these uses, as it is cheaper. An exception might be if more Glory Device ships are required to explode at the same location in the same turn, as the Saber is heavier and can take more Glory Device hits. The Saber also has more engines, so it's more difficult to intercept and tow away from its target than the Nefarious.
  • It has a very weak Shield
  • It has very little Armor
  • It has a very high attack bonus
  • The maximum number of Sabers that can be blown up in a single location in a single turn is 6. This will kill all enemy (or allied!) ships present with a hull mass of 660 or less.

  • If the Glory Device is turned on, the Saber can not be attacked by enemy ships. (Note: This is a racial ability of the Stormers)

  • Is there any way of controlling the order in which Saber and Nefarious ships explode? If there was you could theoretically set 4 (cheaper) Nefariouses to explode first, followed by 2 Sabers.
