[edit] Overview
Interstellar travelers of all sorts move though the space near your bases. Having an attractive place for them to stop, rest and have a few drinks is a great way to have some of them make permanent residence. A Public Space Port is just that place. You can build several of these structures at your ground base, where up to 1,000 will function and each costs 10 MC per turn to upkeep, but you will experience diminishing return after the first 10. A spaceport can make colonists and natives happy from the additional space traffic and new experiences that travelers bring to the residents.
[edit] Happiness Improvement
- Improve your colonists' happiness by 10 plus the square root of PSPs that you have active.
- Improve your natives' happiness by 5 if their happiness is less than 200. More Public Space Ports don't increase the native happiness further.
- You will get a log message in the base looking like this:
Spaceports make colonist happiness increase by XX.
[edit] Generation of Colonists
There is a chance that new colonists will arrive from deep space.
- If the colonist happiness is greater than 30 then a number of new colonists will arrive, which will between 0 and colonists / 1000 * PSPs * happiness / 100. If the number of PSPs is greater than 10 then the number of PSPs is considered 10 + square root of (# of PSPs - 10)(It seems that 11 PSPs are the best cost ratio for colonist generation see Discussion for more info).
- The maximum number of new colonists can be up to 1 million.
- Robot do not get new colonists from PSP.
- No new colonist will arrive if there is an active Shokazul Pulse.
- You get a log message like that:
XXX colonists have arrived from the space port.
[edit] Generation of Natives
There is a chance that new natives will arrive from deep space.
- If you have at least 1 public space ports at a base and no natives of a given type then there is a .3% chance that a group of between 100 and 10,100 new natives of that type will arrive at your base (you have a chance for each type).
- If you have natives at your base and their happiness is over 100 then there is a 10% chance that their population will increase by 10%.
- No natives are generated if a Shokazul Pulse is active.
- If natives are generated, you will receive a message in the base's log file:
New [native type] natives have arrived at the spaceport.
[edit] Notes on Generation of Natives
- This is way you can get natives your race can not normally gather from planet surface (EE can generate Amorphous this way).
- Cyborg can only generate natives that they can't assimilate (Siliconoids, Amorphous, and Chupanoids).
- UEA and Aczanny cannot generate Insectoids.
[edit] Migration of Natives
All planets and bases with public space ports (own and enemy alike) within 300 ly of a public space port are affected by native migration.
[edit] Migration from Planet Surfaces to PSP bases
- If there are natives on planets in number over 300 then 10% (5% for non-registered players) of the natives will come to your base. When there are 300 or less, then all of them migrate.(you need to have 200 of the same native type in your PSP base)
- If you have generated a new type of natives (see Generation), they will start migrating in the same turn.
[edit] Migration PSP to PSP
- If there are natives in another base with a psp and your native happiness exceeds that of the other base's then you will attract them to you.(Same native only, example insectoids to insectoids)
- If there are natives in another base in number over 200 then 10% (5% for non-registered players) of the natives will come to your base. When there are 200 or less, then all of them migrate.
[edit] Notes on Migration of Natives
- This is a great way to attract natives your race can not normally gather from planet surface if you manage to get hands on a seeding population (EE can attract Amorphous for example).
- Since Amorphous and Ghipsoldal natives require contraband to join a ground base, you can save on contraband cost while attracting them.
- Insectoids don't migrate to UEA and Aczanny bases.
[edit] Notes
- Public Space Port = PSP
[edit] Changes
- Public Space Ports now work on the planet that you are on also. Host 203 (not tested)
- Public Space Ports will cost 10 mc each to operate even though the effective number of operating space ports may be less. (Host 213)
