[edit] Overview

Copy the complete Planets4 directory installed on your PC to a USB key. You you will still some files (DLL, OCX) for planets4 to work properly. Once those missing files are copied onto your USB key it will work.

[edit] How to

Download planets4dll&ocxfiles.zip (7.184 KB, from Arlyos) Put all files in both main planets4 and planets4/vpsys directories.
Get "regsvr32" just in case you need to activate a couple of the ocx/dll files. e.g. activating sound. If you need to activate the sound just drag and drop the ocx/dll files onto the regsvr32 file.

[edit] Tips

You can improve the game performance by copying the content of the USB key to a temp directory on your C: drive of the computer you are using (like C:\Temp), you can delete the files when you are done.

I would recommend copying the entire planets directory back to your USB after the first play and every time after that just the war and plans directories back from C: drive to your planets flash drive directory to always keep your data current. <arylos>
