Extracts ore from the planet below and places them into the ship's cargo hold as metals at a ration of 2:1.
- Most ships drill up to 2,000kt of ore (1,000kt of metal) per turn.
- The amount of ore drilled is limited by available cargo space; if only 600 kt of cargo space is available, then only 600 kt of ore will be drilled.
- Increases climate by 3 per turn
- Increases hyperdimensional stress by 10 to 50 points if more than 100 kt of unmined ore is affected.
- Does NOT mine fuel
- Does NOT work if there are no ore left in the planet's core
- Has NO effect on ore or metal that is sitting on the planet's surface.
Normally, an equal amount of each ore is drilled:
2004 kt ore -> 1002 metal = 334 Duranium, 334 Tritanium and 334 Molybdenum
If only one type of ore is left on the planet then the drill can take more of that type.
