[edit] Overview

Very important ship as it is:

  1. very cheap, you can (and should) mass produce a ton of these.
  2. It is one of your two ships capable of laying grav minefields. This, when combined with your ability to produce massive amounts of ordnance with contraband, should mean that your territory is peppered with minefields. Can also be a great offensive weapon when paired with several Pax Class Jumpships as you can precision jump several different groups of Maxims and lay Grav fields around ships/shipyards and blow them, causing minimal damage to your ships (25-50% apiece) yet inflicting much more on the enemies, thus allowing another fleet to hyp in and capture them using incarceration beams / boarding lasers without as much trouble.
