[edit] Premise

Each player will secretly get assigned 2 other players. One of those players is the player that you “Love” and must protect that player to gain victory points. The other player is the player that you “Hate” and will gain victory points if that player is destroyed. You do not have to be the player that directly protects or destroys your assigned players. You can have someone else do it or someone else may accidentally do it for you. A player may not hate and love the same player. You won't be assigned to love someone that hates you. You will not love someone that loves you.

The major rule here is that all players are forbidden to reveal their Love/Hate targets to any other player. This can only be deducted from the behavior of all players in the game. Any player found revealing this information at any time will be disqualified from victory. An ally limit of 0 is in place, so you cannot designate your "Love" as an ally. You'll have to find another means of protecting them without being an ally. This secret relationship is what fuels the enjoyment of the game.

The game should end at a set number of turns. At the end of the game, victory points are tallied as below and the victor is the one with the most points.

Victory Points Condition
2 You survive the scenario
5 Your “hate” target does not survive
5 Your “love” target survives

Survival of the scenario: This is defined by your homeworld being intact or a major base with more than your starting population on it. Instead of a homeworld, if you have a ship with more than your starting population on it, then this will count as well.

A player may get to a point where their love is killed and they believe that there is little or no chance to do anything to their hate. In spite, that player may want to influence the victory points by commiting suicide in the game and denying the player that has him as his love the victory points. This is poor sportsmanship for one thing and for another thing, there are many variables to this situation, so your hate may get in the way of someone else that is protecting their love. So don't immediately deny yourself or someone else victory in this way.
