[edit] Premise

Peace has reigned through the galaxy for centuries. Until recently, an anomaly at the center of the galaxy has been ignored as a natural occurrence. It cannot be scanned and vessels that go near it have never been heard from again. Recently, scientists from all civilizations have discovered that it is a partially dormant black hole. It may have appeared dormant because it had been shifting in and out of time-space. It has become increasingly unstable and scientists believe that there are less than 50 years left before something disastrous occurs. Aliens from another galaxy have appeared in this time of need to offer aid. They have the only means to transport civilizations to another galaxy in enough time to escape the blast of what they call a Mega Nova that will occur in 50 years, which will destroy the entire galaxy. The aliens will only offer aid to one civilization. Each race that was once peacefully intermingling with each other has immediately gone to war to attempt to be the last remaining civilization that will be able to escape the Mega Nova. The aliens will take the last remaining race or the one that they favor the most.

[edit] Game Mechanics

  • All races are at war. No alliances are possible, as the aliens will only take the last remaining race or the race with the most victory points by turn 50.
  • The game will last a set number of turns: 50.
  • Planets towards the middle of the map have higher hyperdimensional stress than normal. The black hole prevents any amplifiers or dampners to function on planets within 100 ly of it.
  • Gravitonic devices and minefields are not able to be used within 100 ly of the black hole.
  • At turn 45, the Mega Nova will send out a shockwave that will expand 50 ly per turn out in every direction. Any bases or units in space caught in the shockwave are considered destroyed. All ship devices and base structures must be turned off. The affected units cannot be moved or have anything transported from/to them. They don't exist, even as wreckage.
  • Players will begin in the circular pattern around the black hole.
  • Rule enforcement may be required by using an active player being a referee. That referee can control an absurd number of his/her favor ship types, armed with whatever they like. This can represent the black hole at the center of the map. The ships should move out of the center at turn 45 to simulate the shockwave. Any use of dampners or amplifiers should be dealt with by destroying the ship. Virgo Class may be good at this using Light Speed and fighters to move to the target, destroy it and return to the black hole. Several Glory Device ships and World Crushers can be used to assist in refereeing. Any incidental damage to other nearby units is not the fault of the referee. Players are required to turn on share ship and base data with the referee.

[edit] Races

Any race should be able to play.

  • The Crystals and Robots may have some advantage towards the center of the map.
  • The Privateers would be able to steal from the referee, so this needs to be handled with care.
  • The Robots would unintentionally fire Gun Zeros at the referee.
