Having a look at the code of the ground combat simulator by Gabor, Black No.1 extracted
the following information:
- Laser Cannons only work if being attacked by a base with "Attack & Run", "Kill Kill Kill" or "Capture" mode.
- The combat phases are executed consecutively like described below:
[edit] 1. Mechs vs. Laser Cannons
- For Mech Type = 1 to 3:
- Attacking Mechs of that type destroy Laser Cannons: (Mech_Count * Attack_City_Rating / 1,000)
[edit] 2. Laser Cannons vs. Mechs
- For Mech Type = 1 to 3:
- Each Laser Cannon destroys 2 attacking Mechs of that type (can be reduced by HG)
- If Attacker is Aczanny each Laser Cannon destroys only 0.4 Mechs of each type (1/5 of normal, wiki says 1/2?)
[edit] 3. Laser Cannons vs. Troops
- Each Laser Cannon kills 1,000 attacking Troops (can be reduced by HG)

- Troops destroy Laser Cannons: (Troop_Count * Combat_Rating / 4,000) * Rnd
- If the attack mode of the attacker is "Capture", then only 1/10 of the above are destroyed.
[edit] 5. Laser Cannons vs. Crew
- Each Laser Cannon kills 1,200 attacking Crew (can be reduced by HG)

- Each Laser Cannon kills up to 0 to 5,000 attacking Colonists (can be reduced by HG)
