Incarceration Beam
From PlanetsWiki
[edit] Overview
This ship device of the UEA and The Aczanny Pyramids will take all the enemy crew, troops and colonists from an enemy ship and put them into a prison pod that is placed in an empty pod bay.
- Each incarceration beam can only affect one enemy ship.
- You don't have to target the enemy ship, just be at exactly the same point.
- The enemy ship's system damage must be equal or greater than 70%.
- The ship using this device must have an empty pod bay.
- Works even if your resource points are used up (from real game, just incarcerated three Dark Wing G with 350% excess in allowed RP points, GFM GToeroe)
[edit] Moment/Duration
- After movement and after ship repair phase.
[edit] Tips
- Set ship to "do not Attack Disabled" this gives you some greater odds at retrieving crew prisoners, since there are no prisoners to be captured in a wreckage pod
- If the disabled ship has repaired itself above the threshold of 70% but not enough to be placed back into combat, you can beam over enough repair units to initiate another attack in efforts of creating enough damage to capture the crew.
- Be sure to pick appropriate weapons For the ships attempting to perform this function. I.E. no Disrupters.
- You will love second wave Enforcers with a Super Laser. Unless it is not hit by a monster wing or several other super weapon hits it knocks out and incarcerates any ship.
- An incarceration pod can hold any amount of personnel. So do not wonder if you incarcerates Cubes and other ships with huge guest quarters

[edit] Research
- How is the target ship determined if there are multiple possible targets? - if one ship with the device disables 2 enemy ships beyond 70% damage, then both crew are placed in pods. if your ship has only 2 pod bays and you disable 3 enemy ships, then i dont know how it is selected. but perhaps it can combine multiple crews into a single pod if there is still space like the native dust off device can do- (untested)--protomatter 19:39, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Nope, each incarceration beam ship can only imprison the crew of one ship. (I'm playing them)Jochen 20:55, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
