Holo Jamming Device

This ship device makes any ships in the same point in space as the Holo Jammer ship to appear to all other players (excluding allies) over 100 LY away from their actual position. The displaced position is the same for all other players. For example, if an Eclipse Class Starbase is at a planet with the Holo Jamming Device active, it may appear 110 LY away. That position 110 LY away will be the same visible position for all other races; they won't all see different displacements.
A Bioscanner from any race within 150 ly will disable the effect on ships.

What is the actual range where ships can be displaced to? I've witnessed: 107, 111, 122, 89 LY.
Is there any resource consumption while this is on? The docs state that it requires 10 kt of fuel.
The area of effect stated in the docs is 10 LY radius. Is this accurate?
Apparently a Bioscanner within 150 LY of the ship using the device causes it to fail. Is this accurate?
a bioscanner will within 150LYs will cause it not to function and the ship that wields holo jamming device will recieve a message in the ships log that a bio scanner within the area is blocking the jamming device. furthermore when it does function, it not only displaces your ships but displaces other players ships as well resulting in some exposure you may not of wanted. its most valueable use in my opinion to see what is hiding in orbit of enemy planets. by displacing your enemys homeworld you can get a very good idea of whatis actually protecting it in orbit. take care however that you dont displace your homeworld and give away your bases orbital defenders.the area of effect is 10 ly radius confirmed. just far enough to avoid being attacked when displaceing an enemy homeworld --protomatter 19:27, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
