The Gravitonic Minefield will stop hyperjumping movement and cause hull & hyperjump engine damage to ships passing through them. * Gravitonic Minefields will stop all hyperjumping movement, including the owner of the minefield.

  • Only when these minefields are cloaked or not active will anyone be able to hyperjump through them.
  • A hyperjump cannot be initiated from within a Gravitonic Minefield, even one that you own.
  • The effect of stopping hyper jumps can be disabled by a Gravity Rift Generator or from ships using their Gravity Well Defuser.
  • Gravitonic Minefields will not stop a Warp Chunnel.
  • Setting a gravitonic minefield to cloaked will not make it harder to be swept.

[edit] Damage done during Movement

Hitting a Gravitonic Minefield causes damage to a ships's hull and hyperdrive (The chances of hitting a Gravitonic Minefield are 2.6 times as likely compared with a Barbitic Minefield).

Hull Damage       = ( 100 /  Hull Mass ) * (RND (1 to 10) + 20)
Hyperdrive Damage = Hull Damage *  ( 1.8 + RND (0 to .5) )  
  • Ships with mass 500kt or more will get their hull damage (an thus also their hyperdrive damage) divided by 5.
  • Wings will lose (fighterCount * Rnd) from each fighter Type and have a 2% chance of losing their High Guard.

[edit] Damage done during Detonation

Gravitonic minefields cause damage to ship engines and hyperdrives when they detonate. A 100kt ship takes 10% engine damage, larger ships take less damage to their engines. Hyperdrive engines take 10% damage from detonating Gravitonic minefields no matter what their mass is.

Engine Damage          =  1000 / (Hull Mass + 1)
Hyperdrive Damage      =  10

[edit] Racial Adjustments

  • The Rebels have a reduced ability to scan for and detect Gravitonic Minefields.
  • The Privateer Bands have only 1/8 the normal odds of scanning and detecting any minefield.
  • The UEA Gravitonic Minefields will cause 25% system damage too all ships (including their own) in the minefield's radius on top of the other normal damage when detonated.
  • Ships of the Scavenger Tribes don't hit gravitonic minefields during warp movement, but they can be damaged by detonation.
  • The Aczanny ship, Sparrow Class Scout, doesn't hit gravitonic minefields during warp movement but it can be damaged by detonation.
  • RCS Maelstorm Class Light Cruiser is a true cloaker & immune to all minefields.
