[edit] Overview

  • Destroys the ship (with a Glory Device ON) with a big bang.
  • If the ship is exploded over a planet, all other races will see that planet.
  • All Minefields within 50 LYs are swept. It does not cause Nova Barbitics to chain react.
  • The hyperdimensional stress of all planets within 10 LYs is increased by 150 points. If the hyperdimensional stress is pushed over 1000 the planet may explode. However any base on the planet may still be evacuated as the explosion will not happen before the next turn.
  • All undocked fighter wings and pods within 10 LYs are destroyed.
  • It does no damage to bases.
  • Ships within 10 LYs sustain a percentage of hull damage according to the following formula:
  m = mass
  d = percent damaged
  r = distance from the center of the explosion

  r < 10 --> d = (100/m)*(1.1/(r+1))*100
  r > 10 --> d = 0
  • Your own ships take only 25% of the normal damage from the explosion.
  • The ship using the Glory Device to explode himself do not produce a wreckage.

[edit] Cooking Amorphous Worms

  • Amorphous Worms in a base within 10 LYs are being cooked by deadly birthol rays (or whatever they're called) and get instantly turned into 1 unit of Lerchin Spices 1/20 a unit of food and 1/20 a unit of supplies per worm.
  • There is a limit of 15,000 Amorphous Worms getting cooked by a single glory device per base.
  • There is a limit of 50,000 'wild' Amorphous Worms getting cooked by a single glory device.
  • So it is feasible to cook a lot of worms at once if you have several bases with worms within 10 LYs of the exploding ship. Although it would be faster to cook the 'wild' worms, you would have to gather all the Lerchin Spices the hard way.
  • You can use more than 1 glory device per turn, if you have 45 000 Amorphous Worms in one of your base you could use 3 glory to get all their goodies in a single turn (same goes for Amorphous Worms on planet surface).
  • The limit of Glory devices you can use at the same location is limited by the hull mass of the glory ship, for example you can have a maximum of 4 Stormer Nefarious Class Destroyer.

  • Stormer Nefarious Class Destroyer and Saber Class Frigate with an activated Glory Device cannot be attacked (by ships & wings). This is a racial ability (Host 198).
    • Other race using Nefarious Class Destroyer and Saber Class Frigate are not combat immune.
    • Stormer using other races Glory Device are not combat immune.

[edit] How to defend vs Glory Devices

  • Combat if Glory Device is not owned by a Stormer (Note: This is a racial ability of the Stormers)
  • Minefields
  • Intercept the GD ships and tow them out of range.
  • Boarding doesn't stop the glory device from going off. It does stop the ship though (speed set to zero at the place the boarding happened).
  • Use hyperlathes or enough scalar wave dampers to prevent a planet from blowing up from too much stress.

  • In Host Order both stellar matter launcher, gun zero and glory device are at 3.17 is it random ?
  • Does a Stormer glory can be fire at by stellar matter launcher & gun zero when activated ?
