[edit] Premise

This scenario is an attempt to bring back the old Star Trek series type of scenario when Captain Kirk and the Klingons were going at it. A board game by the name of Star Fleet Battles was published with very detailed rules on how starships would interact in a combat scenario. This same game included different races that were encountered in Kirk's travels as well as some new ones from various imaginations out there. Federation & Empire was a broader level strategic game that came from this game. It included a map of the known portion of the galaxy. I've generated a map using as much of this map as I could. I also have researched several planet names from the old Star Trek series and placed them into the map for some flavor.

[edit] Game Mechanics

In this scenario there will be no hyperjumping races allowed. Certain weapons can only be built by certain races. Tech level advancements are limited so that certain races can only achieve a certain tech level according to a given turn number or "year". There will be a moderator player that is playing the role of the "Organians" that will control a fleet of several Virgo Class, Pax, and Fireclouds. Their planets are rich with resources, but so well defended that they are practically beyond the scope of the game to attack, but they are there none-the-less. Each race will start it a given position in the map with a few bases already established and ships deployed. Each race will have a goal to fulfill within the game timeframe and will be rewarded victory points outside of the normal game mechanics. The victor is the player with the highest victory point total. There are no teams, but alliances can be set and some race goals are to establish alliances, which have their own set of rules.
