[edit] Overview
You need stuff to build your ground base structures, warheads on weapon shells, and convert into other materials with specialized devices. That stuff is also called supplies. Supplies are one of the commodities of the game that you'll never run out of. That is because you'll always have colonists, which will always make money and money is what is used to make supplies. You'll need factories of course, and here is how those work.
- Turns megacredits into Supply Units at a rate of 1 supply unit per turn per factory.
- Factory output is limited by the number of colonists living on the base.
- 100 colonists can run 14 factories.
- 1,000,000 colonists can run up to 1414 factories.
- 30,000,000 colonists can run 7745 factories.
- Number of factories running = Square Root (Colonists x 2)
- The same colonist can work in factories, mines, farms, and other buildings.
- You can choose the number of factories that you would like to have active so that you can save your money for other things. The default active factories is 10,000, so when you build them for the first time you don't have to worry about adjusting the amount of active factories.
- Factories contribute to the power generated for a ground base during combat. The power generated is their number divided by 20.
- They add 25 "hit points" each to a ground base, which will help keep it from being destroyed.
[edit] Special
- Having more than 10,000 Bovinoids on a base will double the production of supplies at no extra cost.
