[edit] Primary Purpose

Serious firepower, even if it is limited to 60 kt mounts. This is your base defender and minelayer. Its many devices and numerous weapons make this a very useful part of your fleet. Dependant upon other ships for mobility, its own massive Tractor Beam can immobilize most any other ship trying to flee. It can also turn excess food into Supplies and Supplies into metal.

[edit] Secondary Purpose

Towed by either a Prominence Class Cruiser or a Pulsar Class Warcruiser, the Eclipse is a powerful addition to any attack force. Its Holo Jamming Device makes intercepting such a fleet difficult as well. Just make sure any nearby M2 Flare Class Scouts have their Bioscanner turned off.
