Crystal X Field

[edit] Overview

  • steals 500 repair from each enemy ship, base, planet and pod within 50 LY (affected ships get a log). Maximum 5000 (due to Crystal ship repair hold capacity with this device)
  • attempts (50% chance) to capture an enemy ship within 50 LY that has 100 engine damage or more.
    • The first captured ship is at the normal 50%, but each successful capture after that will decrease the chance by 10%. (Host 213o)
    • The X Field ship must have more than 10 crew available and it will send 10 crew to the captured ship. (Host 213o)
  • causes 0 to 40% engine damage and 0 to 10% hull damage on all enemy ships within 50 LY that have an activated Mobile Repair Plant
  • causes 0 to 80% engine damage and 0 to 50% hull damage on all enemy ships within 50 LY that have an activated Mobile Ordnance Factory
  • stops all Base Chunneling attempts within 200 LY of the chunneling start point
  • stops all Ship Chunneling attempts within 200 LY (100 LY for Cyborg) of the chunneling start point
  • erases all Hull Plans that ships, bases, or pods have stored in the memory within 150 LY
  • if inside the blast radius of any Solorian Stellar Matter Launcher shot, it causes an energy feedback which results in 0 to 200 points of additional Hyperdimensional Stress for the planet the shot was fired from.
    • Only one X Field per SML shot take advantage of this. (Host 213o)
  • provides you with intelligence (ID, name and type) about ships and bases, but only for ships you have a scan of. (Host 213o)

[edit] Stealing Repair Defense

It's 5k repair from a pod, 500 repair from repair bay. The overall maximum is still 5k, meaning as soon the x-field is tapping in the pod, it will not steal anymore units from repairs bays. You can have more than one repair pod even if they are not all full. Use transfer orders and fleet sharing, there is NO reason to see your whole fleet drained.

  • The stealing order is Base, Ship, Resupply Pod, Wreckage

  • the blocking of the ship chunneling occurs of course during ship chunneling phase (at the start of the turn)

[edit] Limitations

  • Works for all races, but can adversely affect your own devices. Chunneling is impared, hull plans are erased, and Solorian Stellar Matter Launchers get feedback. Some effects do not take place: repair units are not stolen, your own ships aren't captured, and your own ships aren't damaged by using Mobile Repair Plants or Mobile Ord Factories. This functionality also extends to your allies in the same way.
    • Hull plans in your ships are deleted (and I would expect bases too, but this is not tested).
  • Does only work on crystal owned hull.
  • X Field being used by a Solorian player that captures an enemy ship will have its fuel set to 0.

  • will it stop allied chunneling.? Yes, and your own.
  • will it vaporize allied alien hull plans.? Yes.
  • will it capture allied ships with engine damage? No.
  • will it feedback on allied solarian stellar matter launchers? Yes.
  • will it cause engine damage to allied mobile factory ships? No.
  • will it cause engine damage to allied mobile repair plant ships? No.
    • The way that it affects allies hasn't changed. What has changed is that the target player doesn't have to also agree that you aren't attacking them by turning off their "Attack!" against you. You decide about how the offensive portions of what you can control will behave.
