[edit] Overview

This page is listing bugs related to the host application. As there are a lot of bugs concerning space combat these have been moved to a separate page Bugs - Space Combat.

If you want to report a new bug at the end of the page.

Fixed bugs are moved to the page Bugs - Fixed in order to make this page less crowded.

[edit] H0005: Unintended sharing of data

Program Host
Version 193
Author Paul Honigmann
Details Some players can see others' empires in extraordinary detail, as if we were sharing data on everything except ship weapons, even though neither has any kind of alliance enabled. This just happened to me. Comparing notes with the other player, it seems that neither of us has any allies in common - so it is not a chaining effect - and he's been able to see my stuff for several turns, while I only began his stuff 1 turn ago.

[edit] H0012: Fleet fuel sharing

Program Host
Version 193
Author Magik
Details A fleet of ships using fuel sharing which is set for 60 on each of them will only be given 59. Setting this to 61 is the workaround.

[edit] H0026: Hull plans mix-ups during complex transfers

Program Host
Version 195
Author Paul H
Details A longstanding bug. If there are several ships in orbit round a base, and various transfers going on like beaming up fuel, beaming down ord etc, if you beam plans to the base, or between ships, they invariably end up on the wrong ship.

[edit] H00046:Selling from Gold pod does not work when your within 3ly of the victim base

Program Host
Version 199
Author --Sebastian 21:56, 12 December 2006 (CET)
Details If you order you goldpod to sell its contents to an enemy base and the pod is within 3ly of that alien base the contra is added to the enemy contra stockpile instead of getting sold.

Magik: Try it withouth a "dock" target. That is separate from the "sell" target. --Magik 08:40, 24 February 2008 (CET) Sebastian: IIRC I just ordered just to sell, not to dock (lost 3 pods before I got the key to it). But it's some time ago--Sebastian 20:52, 2 March 2008 (CET).

[edit] H00052: Wrong ship log entries

Program Host
Version 211b
Author JoSch
Details I get entries in my ship log "Resupply pod Sup 1768- 33/ 8 has transferred cargo to this ship." but nothing was transfered from the docked Pod. This entry is 2 times in my log, but nothing changed, ship have 145 from 200 fuel, 400 from 700 Ord and 100 from 100 Reps. The Pod have loaded 200 fuel, 1500 Ord and 500 Reps and only the Transfer Repairs switch was ON, all others off. No damage was repaired, so no use of the Repairs and no transfer could happen.
What a bit wonder, why 2 entries in the Log, should be one as only the Repair should be transfered or 3 if each part of the Sup Pod make an entry in the ship Log. The ship don't get such an entry the first turn a Pod is docked, but in the second or third turn after docking. Not sure if it always happens. And there is no Pod Log about a transfer (not sure if such an entry are created if a transfer happens, but searched under Log then Pods for it.

Other example from another game, there I get 2 ship Log entries to, but nothing have been transfered and the switches in the Pods are all set to OFF and the Pod have loaded 7 different parts. Rest are the same as above.
Have seen this Log entries in hosts before to.

[edit] H000XX: Ships do not move under Warp, Pods do not launch

Program Unknown (Host and/or Client)
Version 213-37/65
Author KBJ07675 17:18, 19 February 2009 (EST)
Details Ships under warp do not move. Hyperdrive works and Pods launch if immediately adjacent to the ships that are set to dock. My guess is Pods did not move and fell back to the planet base launching them. Other than that, everything looks okay. I have an old version of Planets Version 65 dated April 2008 but I have been using that for some time. THe only changes were that last turn I used the ship View toggle and that the new host was Version 37. The game was P4League 2b at Drewheads. The same problem happened to multiple players in the same game. Also there are scattered reports of similar problems with Host 213-37. GAME IS UNPLAYABLE!!!

[edit] H000XX: Growth for Chups is to high

Program Host
Version 213.42
Author Sheltem 16:49, 13 November 2009 (CET)
Details The normal native growth rate in base should be around 10% (with Happiness>100) but Chups growth with a rate of 10% + 100,000. This don't happen every turn but in base with high Chups population (>1 Million) it seems to happen more often. No PSP, landing Pods, Exploding Pods, merging Bases, Chups from the Planet are involved. (also tested in a simulation)
