• Detects native life on planets out to a distance of 700 LY. The bioscanner's findings will be reported in the ship's log. (20% likely to scan each native population within range.)
• Using the scanner does not make the ship any more visible to the enemy than normal.
• The bioscanner additionally gives you a full good scan of the planet, including all metals and surface items.
• The bioscanner doesn't need fuel to work.

• The Reunited Coalition of Systems can build the N. Willow Class Survey Ship that has a special short range built-in bioscanner that detects natives only within 100 ly but 100% of the time. Additionally, it will interfere with Holojammer within 100 ly instead of 700 ly.
• The Holy Draconian Empire Balka's bioscanner works as the one of the N. Willow Class Survey Ship.
