• This ship can be used to carry up to 15 large weapons up to a size of 50kt. As its name suggests, that includes Photon Torpedo Tubes - and using 15 of them they will be quite effective. The Privateers are likely to have a lot of large weapons produced by Amphibians, so this is quite interesting for them (their alternative for this task, the BR4 Class Gun Ship can carry weapons up to 150kt, but only two of them). And if you have a lot of these ships boosted by exotic shield tech, they're quite good being used as a swarmers. The major weakness is that it can mount only one Point Defense.
• Although it could be used to for gathering experience (see below), however the BR4 Class Gun Ship is a better choice for this as it costs less.

• If a BR4 Class Gun Ship, BR5 Torpedo Boat, Dwarfstar Class Transport, Meteor Class Blockade Runner or Bloodfang Class Command Carrier in non-privateer hands is set as capture target by a Privateer owned ship, it is autocaptured next turn.
  • The target ship can be anywhere on the map.
  • The capturing ship gains experience by doing this.

Although you could mount more PTT on the ship, rather put the weapons on two ships and consider boosting them with exotic shield tech
